9/11 Memorial Stair Climb

All Vets, a Henry County-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, in partnership with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, announced the second annual Henry County 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. The event took place on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Martinsville Speedway Grandstand, 340 Speedway Road, Ridgeway, Virginia.

Held in remembrance of the heroic first responders who lost their lives during the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, the stair climb challenged participants to ascend 2,071 steps — the equivalent of the 110 floors of the Twin Towers. The event was untimed and self-paced; participants could complete all 2,071 steps or as many as they could.
